In the depths of the English countryside, a military base holds prisoner a group of uncommon children who, despite having been infected by a « zombie » disease agent which has decimated the planet, remain able to think and experience emotions. When the base is attacked, Melanie, who seems to be the most gifted of them, is able to escape with her professor, two soldiers and a biologist who only sees her as a guinea pig for a vaccine discovery. In a devastated England, Melanie has to discover who she really is and decide of her faith as well as of all humanity’s.
