Sudarshan is a lawyer turned filmmaker from India and is completing an MFA in Film Directing at Columbia University, New York. His short films as writer and director 'Memories of the Sea', 'The Rabbit' and 'Absent' have gone on to screen at numerous international film festivals including Aspen, Palm Springs, Hamptons, New Orleans, Atlanta and more. 'The Rabbit' won Jury Honors at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles and Best Short Film at the London Indian Film Festival. 'Absent' was picked for Jury Honors at the Columbia University Film Festival 2017 and the Student Film Award at the Hamptons International Film Festival 2017. Sudarshan was the recipient of the 2017 Director’s Guild of America Student Filmmaker Award.
Sudarshan is also a freelance cinematographer and editor and has edited a number of Columbia University thesis projects, which have gone on to screen at numerous festivals. 'Alex, Listen to your Heart', a short film that he shot, was recently acquired by HBO for its streaming and broadcast platforms.
