Laure Portier was born in 1983 in France, in the Deux-Sèvres department. After a degree in Modern Literature in Toulouse and a year at the ESAV, she joined the INSAS in Brussels in the Image program. After graduating, she became a camera assistant and worked on feature films. In 2019, she presented her first short film, Dans L'œil du Chien, winner of the Short Film Award at the Cinéma du réel Festival. Soy Libre is her first feature film.
