Lina Soualem is a filmmaker and actress based in Paris.
After studying history and political science, Lina worked as a programmer for the International Human Rights Festival in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her first feature documentary Leur Algérie had its world premiere at Visions du Réel 2020, before its theatrical release in France in 2021. The film received several distinctions including the First Feature award at CINEMED Festival, the Best Documentary award at CINEMANIA Festival and the France TV award at Créteil International Women’s Film Festival. Lina has acted in three feature films by filmmakers Hafsia Herzi, Hiam Abbass and Rayhana. She is currently developing her second feature documentary, Bye Bye Tibériade and has recently worked as a writing coordinator and researcher on the OUSSEKINE series (Disney +), created and directed by Antoine Chevrollier and produced by Itinéraire Production.
